Jim is a dedicated professional in clinical and academic research, with a strong emphasis on research management, data visualization, and statistical analysis. His career is distinguished by a blend of leadership, innovation, and a dedication to advancing research and data science.
Professional Journey
Jim's career in research began as a Clinical Data Manager and Biostatistician at a boutique Clinical Research Organization (CRO), where he rapidly identified opportunities for growth and innovation. In this role, he led significant drug and device clinical trials in Headache and Migraine research. His expertise expanded across various domains, including biostatistics, CDISC compliant data management, programming in R, data visualization using Shiny, grant writing, creating and maintaining Trial Master Files (TMFs), and establishing robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
His drive and strategic vision led to an advancement to the position of Director of Research Management. In this capacity, he managed a multifaceted team consisting of a Clinical Data Manager, Biostatistician, Data Science Intern, Study Monitor, and Regulatory Monitor. Enhancing his research foundation are certifications like the Certified Clinical Data Manager (CCDM), coupled with extensive training in various key areas of clinical research including Good Clinical Practice (GCP), human protection, etc.
Capitalizing on this rich experience and his entrepreneurial spirit, Jim transitioned from the CRO to found Agile Research Solutions. This new venture represents his dedication to shaping the future of clinical data science. At Agile Research Solutions, collaborative approaches are prioritized, leveraging Jim's extensive background to deliver superior research management solutions and consulting services.
Academic Involvement
Parallel to his corporate journey, Jim has a rich history in academia as a Per-Course Instructor at Missouri State University, teaching statistics, research methods, and psychology. This was complemented by previous roles in the Computer Services department as a Technology Training Specialist, and at RStats as a Research Analyst, where he utilized his skills in data management and analysis to nurture academic growth.

Jim holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Missouri State University, with a focus on experimental psychology and teaching pedagogy. His comprehensive skill set, encompassing research consulting, data management, and statistical analysis, positions him as a versatile and experienced professional in the field of Clinical Data Science.
